Volunteers Help Make a Difference

Sponsor a luncheon at Safe Harbor for your friends, civic group, Sunday school class

Sponsor a "Chef's Night Out" - call Karen Hensel for additional information at

Office help -answer phone, file, correspondence - weekly for at least one or two hours

Occasional - assist with mail outs including newsletter, special mailings, and others - a few hours at a time - contact Karen Hensel at 904 757 7918

TUTOR for Basic Principles of English including grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.   Tutor to assist students using our curriculum focusing on the stated principles. 

Tuesday or Thursday during the day or before 4 p.m. 

Volunteer Criteria

Volunteers must be willing to
1. submit to the State of Florida Background Screening Requirements

2.  attend a 3 hour "welcome to volunteering at Safe Harbor" class

3.  support the staff and follow the volunteer rules

Financial Help

Monthly support for a boy $25/month and up is desirable

$750 to purchase uniforms or school books for one year for one boy

Contributions – your monetary contributions by check, cash, or credit card are welcomed and help provide for the day to day needs of the home.   We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

TANGIBLE ITEMS

Boats, Cars, RV’S, Houses, Property – your donation of tangible items of value are welcomed

 UNITED WAY, CFC or FSECC GIFTS

Safe Harbor can receive your designated gifts through the United Way campaigns at your work place including the CFC and FSECC campaigns.  Complete the card indicating your gift is for Safe Harbor Boy’s Home at 4772 Safe Harbor Way, Jacksonville FL 32226. 

CFC – Safe Harbor participates in the CFC Campaign.  The number is 21892

CORPORATE OPPORTUNITIES

Chef’s Night Out: provide and deliver dinner for boys and staff one night.  This can be a one time event or ongoing

Matching gifts increase the value of your personal gift.  If your company or organization has a matching gift program, you can increase your gift to Safe Harbor Boy’s Home by enrolling with your employer and then letting us know.
