Day 1 & 2-Jacksonville Landing

Today is thursday Nov. 1,o7 and we are getting ready to leave safe harbor for our ten day trip to Lake George and back.
After lots of hard work to get to this point I am very thankfull it is here At 8:30 am thismorning we went out to eat at grinders where we eat accationaly,I had eggs, sausage, homefries and white toast with orange juice it was very tastie.
After that we drove back to the Harbor and started to work on the houseboat, because our starter wasn't ingageing to turn over the engine witch meant one of two things, either I had hooked the silinoid switch up wrong and messed up the electrical on the engine, or that we had the wrong starter for the engine. Well after checking the electrical on the engine we found out that it was the starter and i did not mess up the boat.
Afer learning that I was very gratefull and happy about the results.
So Mr.Doug went to Advanced Auto parts and we got the write starter and brought it back and i installed it on the engine, and the boat started right up. "Hurray!" Everyone was happy we where ready to leave. We had a total of six boats going on the trip one boat was a 33ft Carver that four of the boys includeing myself are staying on, Another boat was a 42ft Houseboat that the other five boys are staying on, and then a 32ft houseboat that Mr. Doug and Cpt. Scutt are staying on. Along side of each large boat where a smaller boat that where going to e towed, witch are two fishing boats about 15ft and a ski boat witch was a 19 footer. WEll all the boats are warmed up and ready to go, but the current is ripping and we have 30mph winds witch are both working against us, but we have Cpt. Randy there who is the owner of TowBoat US and he is going to take the houseboat out of the Harbor, so everyone lets the liones off the cleats and jump onto the boat and When cpt. Randy put the boat in gear the port engine cut off and he didn't realize it, and by the time he did we where all running off our boats down the docks to prepare for a mess. the current and wind had taken control of there boat and they slammed into a 15ft sailboat on the dock and almopst crushed the boat, it was an incredible site the boat that got hit folded over the side of the dock and after that happened Cpt. Randy gained control of the boat and pulled it out smoothely we all cheered him on. When he got out of the Harbor safetly and was clear it was our turn to leave and luckly for us we were on the outside of the dock and we where faced to where the current and wind where to our advantage onece we all got out safetly we headed top the Landing for our first stop. it was about a two hour trip and when we got there we were the first ones to bring in our boat, so I hopped in the dingy and waited in the channel until the boat was secure. Once that was done they waved me in and i pulled the dingy upside the boat and hiptied there. After we told Mr. doug we Where in safetly they brought the other boats in and we helped dock them. Once we all got settled in we ate dinner and went with Mr. Doug to the Landing to get Icecream. The icecream store was closed so we found this mexican restaurant that served fried icecream amd snacked on that. Well it started to get late and everyone was sleepy so we decided to hit the sheets.

Today is Friday Nov. 2,o7 I woke up at about 9:30am and went outside to get some fresh air, the weather and water where beautiful. I was one of the first people to wake up so i just hung out on the flybridge and watched all of the joggers and boats go by then one by one everyone started to poke there heads out of there boats.

Once everyone was up we started to cook breakfast, we had sausage, and eggs. After breakfast we started up our boats to charge the batterys and we had some problems with the generator on our boat so we took off the starter and found that that was our problem. Then Mr. Doug allowed us to take our ski boat across the river and take our showers whitch where nice because we had warm water and a big space to shower in. By the time everyone was done with there showers it was 2:47pm and Cpt. Randy pulled up with bags of ice so that we could restalk and keep our food cold. We had to make sure our boats where clean, because Cpt. Scutt was giveing boat inspection later on that night. When we got finished cleaning our boat we kicked our feet back and chilled untill about 7:00 pm when Mr. Doug told us we could go too the landing, so we got dressed and headed off to go to the landing and listen to music and walk around. Everyone has to stay in a group but we still have lots of fun. Later on two of the boys that were on my boat had to leave for doctors appointments so that left me Cpt. of our boat So i asked Cpt. Scutt if he could ride with me and show me how to properly handle my boat.
