ROLLS ROYCE PROJECT

March 31, 2010

This project has gotten off to a ROARING start, literally, but before you hear that story, first a little background.
Dr. Doug met Mr. Mason with the idea of trading a boat for a Rolls Royce so the boys could work and learn on a classic
but those conversations ended up with Mr. Mason “loaning” One of his Rolls that needed work anyway.
The vast majority of repairs, part production, etc. will be completed in-house, as boys learn their
capabilities with equipment already in the expansive shop area.

The boys removed the debt in the left front fender the first day picture top left is before top right after.

Dr. Doug and the boys had the Rolls running within 2 days of the car arriving at the shop.

The car arrived on
Thursday and was placed on dollies so it would be easy to maneuver in the shop. This project will include the
boys learning to use an English Wheel for body work and a lot of sanding and prep work

There have been many fantastic people along the way who have already helped with this project. To name a few:
English Garage – loaned us a Rolls Royce manual and provided some much needed expert advice, i.e. WHERE IS THE Transmission DIPSTICK? It is under the carpet inside the car by the way.

The Concourse d’Elegance in Amelia Island yielded a lot of help also. The Rolls Royce representatives were very
enthusiastic about young people learning the trades, sort of the older guys mentoring the younger guys, which are what
this project is all about, even our 50 something year olds have mentors and are learning along the way.

Stay “tuned” for future updates….
